Sergei Kaminskiy
Founder / President
Sergei Kaminskiy was born in Siberia. He immigrated to the united Stated when he was 7 years old. Growing up, Sergei always dreamed of having his own successful business. After finishing high school, he moved to San Diego and started working for a full service remodeling company in Rancho Santa Fe. Later he left that company and began working for a much respected framing company. Soon after, Sergei met Elena and the two married in February of 2005. The following month, Sergei and Elena opened their company, originally known as “SDC Handyman Service Plus”. What started out as a small handyman operation has grown to a full service design and remodeling company. In addition, the couple now have two kids. A three year old girl and a one year old boy.
From the beginning Sergei wanted to build a reputation of excellence. Every technician is uniformed and drives a marked vehicle. All staff and employees are hand selected and go through vigorous background screening. The company is affiliated with top organizations such as BBB, Nari, U.S Chamber of Commerce, CAI and CACM. Sergei’s goal is to deliver the absolute best quality and service, while offering the most competitive prices around. The services that are offered are what sets Kaminskiy Construction apart from the rest. From full home remodels and room additions, to the smallest of handyman repairs, Sergei wanted to build a company that can fulfill its clients every need. He believes in treating employees and sub-contractors with respect and honesty while building lasting relationships with each individual who is part of the Kaminskiy Team. In addition, Sergei knows that his Christian based faith and dedication to hard work, is what keeps his company growing.
Today, Sergei is more determined than ever to take Kaminskiy Construction to a new level, while still staying true to those principles that have built this company up.
Elena Kaminskiy
Business Development Director
Elena Kaminskiy was born in Kiev, Ukraine. She immigrated to the united states with her family at age 3. Growing up Elena helped her parents with several of their family businesses. In 2004 she met Sergei Kaminskiy and the two were married the following year. The following month, the couple opened their company, formerly known as “SDC handyman Service Plus.” Today, Kaminskiy Construction Inc. has grown to a full service design and remodeling company in San Diego. Sergei and Elena have two kids together. A 3 year old girl and a 1 year old boy.
Elena is the company’s Business Development Director. She pushes Kaminskiy’s vision by implementing all the latest and best marketing approaches. She focuses on growing the business through innovative strategies. Her desire is to make Kaminskiy Construction stand out in this competitive market and reach its long term goals. Aside from her professional work, Elena enjoys raising and being a mother to her two small children.
Sheryl
Office Manager
Sheryl was born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Long Island, New York. She later moved to Dallas, Texas in 1990 and in 2004 moved to San Diego. Sheryl worked for North West Airlines as a Sales Reservationist for 7 years while living in New York. She later spent 10 ½ years with American Airlines as Supervisor of Aircraft Maintenance Planning. After moving to San Diego, Sheryl joined Café Sevilla and was their Human Resources / Accounting Manager for 3 1/2 years.
Soon after, Sheryl joined Kaminskiy Construction and is the full time Office Manager. From the initial phone call, to the final progress payment, Sheryl will make sure your project runs as smoothly as possible. She enjoys assisting clients with any questions and concerns they may have and has exceptional communication skills. Her background in management has put Sheryl in a position to deliver the absolute highest quality customer service.
Sheryl lives with two of her sons and has a daughter living in Texas. She loves to salsa dance and California swing. In addition, Sheryl loves to travel, go to concerts and spend quality time with her family.
Coleen
I.I.D.A. / C.C.D.I.C. Certified Interior Designer
Coleen has been an interior designer in San Diego for over 25 years. She received her B.A. Degree in Environmental Design from San Diego State University. Coleen is certified by the State of California, and is a member of the International Interior Designer Association (I.I.D.A.) and the Calfironia Council for Interior Designer Certification (C.C.D.I.C.).
She is known for her ability to design in any style, whether modern, traditional, Tuscan, or whatever the client wants. Her highest priority is to interview the client, and get to know them and their preferences so that the resulting design will be a professional rendition of the client's tastes. She is a noted color expert, and is the only designer in San Diego County to be chosen to showcase her work in the international publication "1001 Ideas for Color and Paint."
Coleen is the main designer here at Kaminskiy Construction. She works extra hard to deliver the wishes and dreams her clients desire to incorporate in their newly remodeled space.
Jim
Licensed Architect
Born the son of a Navy flight surgeon, Jim spent his pre-adult life moving from city to city and school to school. After having attended four high schools in four years, he graduated from Lemoore High School in Lemoore, California in 1962. From there Jim attended 2.5 years of college and then enlisted in the U.S. Navy. For the next two years Jim traveled to many foreign ports including a nine month tour of duty aboard the U.S.S. Bon Home Richard in Vietnam.
After being discharged from the Navy, Jim attended and graduated with a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture degree from California State Polytechnic University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo, California. He married his wife Charlene Zeltner from Lakewood, California who also graduated from Cal Poly with a master’s degree. Having spent all his summer vacations from college working for an architect in San Diego, Jim took his degree and his new bride and moved to San Diego. Upon serving his 2.5 year apprenticeship, Jim took his state board exams and became a licensed Architect in 1978. At this time he started his own practice. For the past 30 years Jim has maintained his practice and has done many projects throughout San Diego County. In addition, Jim is the main Architect at Kaminskiy Construction and takes pride in his timeless work and quality.
He is still married to his wife Charlene of 37 years and the couple have two grown children as well as two grandchildren. They are all avid San Diego Charger fans. Jim enjoys golfing and going on shipboard cruises around the world. He is also very much into restoration of 1960’s muscle cars.
Rubin
Project Manager
Rubin has been working for Kaminskiy Construction since 2006. He enjoys the work he does, especially performing a variety of trades. He began taking an interest in construction as a teenager when he worked with his father improving their home in Sacramento. He remembers how impressed and satisfied he felt when he and his father finished building a sauna and pool at their house.
Later, Rubin became more involved in fixing things and doing remodeling for other people while he was still in high school. His work was rewarded not only with money, but with compliments and more referrals. In 2003 he moved to Spokane, WA where he worked in a warehouse assembling doors as well as doing a full house remodel for his father.
In 2005 he moved to San Diego and worked as a window installer for a year. A year later he began working for Kaminskiy Construction. Today Rubin is one of the lead project managers handling projects of various sizes. He has earned a reputation of excellence from the projects he has managed. He does all of his work with the highest possible quality and honesty. Most importantly he likes to have an open and friendly interaction with the customers. He enjoys answering their questions and takes all of their concerns seriously.
When Ruvim is not working, he enjoys spending quality family time with his wife and their baby boy.
Alfie
Project Manager
Alfie was born in San Diego and has over 12 years of remodeling and construction experience. In 1990, Alfie moved to Baja California with his family. He helped out his father in his carpentry shop by building cabinets, furniture and everything in between. After finishing his business major in 1997, Alfie took over his father’s shop and managed up to 15 employees.
In 2002 Alfie moved back to San Diego after his father sold their business and began working in the construction and remodeling field. He picked up and mastered trades such as electrical, plumbing, drywall and various other trades.
Soon after, Alfie joined Kaminskiy Construction and proved that he is trust worthy responsible and goes over and above clients expectations. Today Alfie is one of the lead project managers handling projects of various sizes. Alfie receives great satisfaction and joy by providing Kaminskiy’s clients with top quality work, in a professional and timely manner. When not working, Alfie enjoys spending his time with his wife, and their little son.
Errol
Hardwood and Tile Supervisor
Errol is originally from Alaska and has been in the San Diego area for the last 20 years. He specializes in all aspects of hardwood, laminate, tile and stone. Errol started out as a flooring helper for a friend. He quickly learned everything and anything he could from many different veterans in the flooring and stone industry. At age 24 he was fully licensed in hardwood, tile, stone and carpet. Errol takes pride in delivering Kaminskiy’s clients top quality work that they will enjoy for years to come.
